Rings By Design create shaped wedding rings that fit around your perfect engagement ring.
We work with you to design a bespoke wedding ring, ensuring you’re happy with the fit and the design. Based in the North East, we offer home consultations, face-to-face consultations at our workshop as well online consultations. We also offer nationwide consults virtually too, so book an appointment today.
Step One
Fill out our contact form with some details of the ring you’re looking for and we’ll send you back an approximate quotation so you can be confident we can make you a ring that’s within budget.
The information we’ll need is the preferred metal type, the approx. width of the band & if you want diamonds approx. how many & how big.
If you haven’t got a clue about any of that stuff then don’t worry, just jump straight to Step 2.
Step Two
Book a free, no-obligation consultation to explore design ideas and preferences further. We can do consultations in your home if you live in North East England, in our workshop, or virtually via Zoom or Skype if you live further afield.
Step Three
Let’s consult! We’ll work through the design process with you from start to finish using our sample rings to explore what you do and don’t like.
When we know exactly what you’re looking for we’ll provide you with a detailed quotation and guarantee the price for at least 7 days.
For home visits we’ll bring our sample rings & equipment with us. For virtual appointments we’ll post the kit and samples out subject to £100 deposit which is refundable when the kit is returned.
Step Four
Once you’re happy with your bespoke shape-around ring design, we’ll take a deposit and then we’ll start work. First off we create a resin model and send you this to check against your engagement ring. If you’re happy with the shape and stone placements etc., we’ll go to cast. If you feel some adjustments are necessary, we can incorporate those before proceeding further.
Personalised with your signature
As unique as your bespoke wedding ring will be to you, adding a personalised touch is just that little more special. As part of your design process you will have the option to personalise your wedding ring. You can add a fingerprint or a special word, speak to us for more information.
Frequently asked questions
Will you need my engagement ring?
We hardly ever need to take your engagement ring from you. We have perfected a technique to record the profile of your engagement ring during your consultation which means you don’t need to part with your ring.
We design your wedding ring to fit around the engagement ring profile using Computer Aided design Software and then print out a resin model.
We send you the model to check against your engagement ring to make sure the two fit perfectly together and only after you’ve confirmed that you are happy do we cast the actual ring in the metal of your choice.
What if my resin model doesn’t sit well against my engagement ring
Whilst 99% of customers are happy with the way the resin model fits against their engagement ring when they receive it occasionally the fit just isn’t quite right.
If you happen to be in the 1% there’s no need to panic. If you’re able to bring your engagement ring into the workshop it often only takes a tiny adjustment to the resin model to get the fit spot on.
If you live too far away to bring your engagement ring in we’ll do a Zoom or Skype call to identify what adjustments are required. We’ll then adjust the CAD design & send you a new resin model to check that the problem is solved.
In the unlikely event that we can’t get the fit just as you would like it then you will be free to cancel the order without penalty and we’ll refund in full any money you’ve already paid against that particular ring. Rest assured though this is something we rarely need to do.
